This blog is dedicated to Christina's father, Mr. Ken Getzlaf, who couldn't be there to walk his beautiful daughter down the aisle on her wedding day but visited her in a unique way. You are truly missed.
Rest In Love, Mr. Getzlaf!
Months before Christina and Sean's wedding, Christina's father passed away. She wanted to do something special for her father on her wedding day so she and Sean planned to release about a dozen Monarch butterflies during their ceremony at the Hilton Waikiki Beach Hotel.
It was a very beautiful day in paradise for this destination couple from San Diego, California. Everyone was having a great time laughing, smiling and bonding. At the ceremony when it was time to release the Monarch butterflies there was one butterfly in particular that didn't want to fly away. We all believe that it was Ken Getzlaf visiting his daughter on her special day. He landed on her bouquet and never left her side, even at the reception, this butterfly was still there on the bouquet to witness the entire event.
I've never witnessed this ever in my life but it was such a heart touching moment and I will never forget it. I can't say that I've never met Mr. Getzlaf because I did... As a handsome Monarch butterfly. Thank you Christina and Sean for this unforgettable wedding!
